Austin Science and Engineering Festival

Explore the wonders of science with FREE activities for the whole family
at the Austin Science and Engineering Festival. From Astronomy to Geology,
you'll experience science in action. Take the solar energy challenge,
explore the science behind movie stunts and special effects, carry out
virtual experiments with Nintendo Wii controllers, control a car simulator
with an iPhone, compete in hands-on solar car races, and travel to
different lands with a virtual reality helmet and build candy-launching
catapults out of Popsicle sticks. Also featured are free giveaways,
take-home science activities, and the lively entertainment of Waterloo
Labs. The Austin Science & Engineering Festival is hosted by the Society of
Mexican American Engineers and Scientists, and is presented in conjunction
with the inaugural USA Science & Engineering Festival.

The Austin Science and Engineering Festival will be held on October 23 &
24 at the Austin Convention Center from 10am to 5:30pm.The two-day expo
will feature more than 100 fun and interactive activities to inspire the
next generation of scientists and engineers. The event will bring the
community together to celebrate and raise family awareness of the city’s
resources in science and technology
