Anthony O. Befi

Vice President, POWER Systems and Storage Program Management, IBM Texas Senior State Executive & IBM Austin Senior Location Executive

Tony Befi is Vice President of POWER Systems and Storage Program Management in IBM's Systems and Technology Group. He has responsibility for delivering IBM’s portfolio of server products based on the POWER architecture and also IBM’s portfolio of storage products.

In addition to his technical responsibilities, Tony is also IBM’s Texas Senior State Executive and Austin Senior Location Executive. He oversees the IBM campus in Austin and is responsible for maximizing IBM’s role as a good corporate citizen. As Senior State Executive, Tony provides leadership for IBM’s various community outreach and volunteer involvement strategies; represents the company in education and government relations advocacy; and creates constituent relationships with key state government and community leaders.

After graduating from Manhattan College in New York with a BS in Electrical Engineering, Tony joined IBM in 1979 and has held several executive management positions in server and technology development.

Tony and his wife, Phyllis, reside in Round Rock, Texas. He served on the board of directors for WCIT2006 and was executive of an IBM United Way Campaign. Tony currently serves on the Engineering Faculty Advisory Committee for the University of Texas. He also serves in the music ministry at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hutto, Texas and is a member of the Round Rock Community Choir.
