In January 2008, with over 30 years of service, Tony retired from IBM. His final position was General Manager, Integrated Technology Delivery. He was named to this position in October 2005. In that role, he was responsible for all IBM information technology (IT) services organizations around the globe. His organization provided computer systems operations, network, internet and security services to all of IBM’s outsourcing clients, as well as providing similar services to all internal IBM organizations. He had managed IBM’s centralized IT Services organization since its beginning in the mid ‘90s and guided it from its inception to the $12.5B per year global organization it is today. His direct responsibilities involved management of a worldwide workforce of more than 85,000 people in over 450 data center locations across the globe. Tony was also a member of IBM’s worldwide executive council (“the Performance Team”), a se-lect group of executives who advise the Chairman.
In the period 1993 to 2005, prior to assuming the general management position above, Tony held various executive positions within IBM and its subsidiary, the Integrated Systems Services Corporation (ISSC), these included:
• General Manager, IBM Global I/T Delivery. 2004-2005
• General Manager, IBM Americas Service Delivery. 1996-2004
• General Manager, IBM Americas Technology Solutions-Western U.S. 1995-1996
• General Manager, IBM/ISSC Desktop Management Solutions. 1994-1995
• Vice President, ISSC Technology & Systems Integration. 1993-1994
Tony joined IBM in 1974 as an engineer in their Federal Systems Unit in Houston Texas, a 1500 person organization dedicated to providing data processing systems and services to NASA, and the Departments of Energy and Defense. He advanced through various program management and executive rolls to become the vice-president and general manager of the IBM Federal Systems Houston unit in 1991. His experience included the development of computer systems and software onboard the Space Shuttle, as well as ground based mission control and training systems at the Johnson, Kennedy, and Marshall Space Centers. In addition, he was responsible for IBM’s high performance computing activities within the U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratories. He remained in this role until 1993.
Prior to joining IBM in 1974, Tony worked as an engineer and systems analyst for both the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation and TRW Systems Group.

• Tony is a recipient of NASA’s Public Service Medal for his service to the Nation’s Space Program.
• He served on the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Advisory Board during the development of the SEI-Capability Maturity Model, the industry’s premier standard for high quality software development, testing and integration. He also managed the first U.S. industry project (Space Shuttle Onboard Software) to be awarded the SEI’s top (Level 5) rating.
• Tony graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, and received a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston.
